If you are having trouble visiting websites with 'qksrv.net' in the URL and no matter what you do, when you click the link you get the 'Unavailable' page in your browser.

The most probable solution is that you have installed some sort of adaware program which has blocked you access to this domain. Kazza Lite is also another program which will prevent access to this website.

Commission Junction is a Network which provides products from Merchant to Affiliates and in turn these affiliates display the products on their website to earn a commission when a sale takes place. By not being able to display these pages you could possibly be missing out on a few good shopping bargains to be had!

The culprit is the windows host file which has an entry which looks like this:

127.0.0.1 www.qksrv.net or other CJ derivative

The solution is quite simple if you follow the steps below. Please note that we can't be held responsible for any misuse or action which the following steps produce.


Locating the Windows Host file
Open 'My Computer' or 'Windows Explorer' then click to the following directory and filename:

• Windows 95/98/ME: c:\windows\hosts
• Windows XP Home/Pro: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
• Windows NT or 2000: c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Or if you still can't find the host file, perform a search Start Menu > Search > Files or Folders

Editing the Host file
Now you have found the host file you have to edit it! Open the file in Notepad or similar (You may need administrator access to perform this task).Once opened you will see a nice long list of website addresses on separate lines. Locate the URL's which correspond to Commission Junction, such as:

• cj.com
• commission-junction.com
• qksrv.net

Delete the full rows, where you see the above instances.

Saving the Hosts File
When the required host file entries have been deleted, save the file under its original name. DO NOT rename the file and make sure the host file is not read only (right click > properties) otherwise you will not be able to save it.

Open a new browser window and try the links again. Are they working?
