Securing a password which can then be readable again but not recovered can be a good way to set passwords for logins. Infact let me rephrase that, it is a MUST to do this for passwords and any other important information that you do not want to be known.

MD5 Hash is way to do this. You can encode a password with MD5 and then use the PHP md5() variable to read this and use it in your scripts.
